Giant Bag of Composted Horse Manure. Natural fertiliser - no added chemicals. Excellent for improving soil structure of clay soils.
Good gardeners will always prefer natural, well composted horse manure to artificial fertiliser for their vegetable and shrub areas.
There is also nothing better to make the roses grow..
The midden we are currently taking from has been composting for at least 1 year or more and the resultant material is dark in colour and virtually odourless.
If you are planning a new grass or lawn area, turning this material into the soil beforehand will produce excellent results.
Weight: Approx. 400kg depending on moisture content (Please note the weight of the bags is always approximate and will vary).
Check our calculator to determine how much you will require. We recommend a depth of 50-75mm. Each Giant Bag holds approximately a cubic metre.

IMPORTANT
Although we do everything we can to prevent traces of a broadleaf herbicide known as Aminopyralid in our horse manure and have only had reports of 4 cases out of thousands of bags of horse manure in the last 12 years, it is impossible to give any guarantee it is completely free from traces of this chemical, which is banned or strictly controlled in many areas of the world but is still permitted in the UK and may well be in the hay the horses are fed.
However, it is also found in many garden lawn products and could easily affect home compost heaps. It s a very residual chemical and traces can affect the growth of the following - Beans and other legumes -Carrots and other umbelliferae - Dahlias - Lettuce, Spinach - Peas - Potatoes - Tomatoes.
Although we insist the stables are vigilant of herbicide use and do not use any on their own grazing land, they do have to buy their hay from various farms throughout Central Scotland but are given assurances no herbicide was used on the grassland the hay was cut from. However, the complexity of the supply chain means it is not always easy to trace the source of the aminopyralid. Clopyralid which makes it on nigh impossible to guarantee there is no history of herbicide use from neighbouring farm spray drift etc.
We also make every effort to ensure our horse-manure is well composted based on information that aminopyralid has a half life of around 35 days in soil but when asked we always advise gardeners to obtain advice from the RHS or other similar bodies to decide if composted horse manure is the best option for the purpose intended.

For giant builders bags, premises must have driveway access or be suitable for offloading by 3 metre lorry crane (please note the weight of the bag will determine how far the crane will reach - in wetter weather, these bags can be much heavier). Where possible the driver will do their best to get the bag as close as possible to your property. If not suitable then the best option is kerbside delivery or small bags.
