Storing the Logs

The full bags of cut logs are then stacked in our polytunnel stores which are open at both ends with mesh sides to allow maximum ventilation.

The visqueen plastic also allows the maximum amount of UV light which inhibits mould growth.

The end result is perfectly dry seasoned Woodsure Approved log, 8 to 10" long between 15% and 20% moisture in winter months and as low as 10-12% in summer months, which will provide the most effective and economical heat.

The popularity of our air-dried logs is highlighted by a doubling of sales year on year.

The best time to stock up for the winter on air-dried logs is in July each year when we have our log sale.
